the grand prix superyacht - st david

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend

In 2019 during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, this 197ft superyacht was moored trackside at Yas Marina Circuit.  From its privileged berth, it offered 3 spacious and functional decks to watch the on-track action. Even those who wanted to relax in the shade or enjoy alfresco dining on the sun deck, didn’t have to worry about missing the action thanks to its ingenious two-way TV screen. The vessel’s main deck also boasts a full wet bar for guests to enjoy.

Over the F1 weekend, the on-deck celebrations continued into the night as the entire space was transformed into what is effectively a private nightclub. On top of the VIP hospitality, there was a special guest appearance by Mark Webber. As many F1 fans will know, Webber is a retired F1 driver who won 9 races with Red Bull.

Access to St. David was only available with a Champions Club Diamond Ticket Package.  These guests also got to enjoy weekend access to Yas Hotel’s bars and restaurants, the concerts at Du Arena where The Killers and Travis Scott were headliners, plus a guided tour of the F1 paddock! Luxurious cabins were also available on board for a limited number of guests during the Grand Prix.

design & aMENITIES

St. David was custom built in 2008 by Italian shipbuilder Benetti.  The interior and exterior were designed by Andrew Winch with Italian supercars in mind, which is reflected in its low, streamlined shape.  Not only was this vessel a finalist in the 2009 World Superyacht Awards, the luxury-lifestyle magazine Robb Report also awarded her the Best Charter Yacht that same year. Since then she has undergone extensive refits, the last being in 2018.

The top hotels on the Italian Riviera were the inspiration for her interior which is simply exquisite. She sleeps up to 12 guests in 6 luxurious cabins. The master stateroom has a split level with private lounge, a king size bed and an en-suite with 2 showers and a huge bath. The VIP suite also has a bath plus one shower and a queen size bed. The 2x double and 2x twin rooms also have an en-suite. She offers plush seating areas, a stunning bar and a grand dining area. There is also space for 15 experienced crew members.

On top of the remarkable interior, the exterior enhances social interaction with its modern innovative design. A skylight casts natural light through all three decks which are connected by a grand staircase. There is also a Jacuzzi, outdoor dining area, a BBQ and exercise equipment on board.
